S9+ Blows Pixel 2 XL Out of the Water!!

I carry all three flagships today (S9+, Pixel 2 XL & iPhone X). For my needs Samsung will always be my primary device because I like Samsung Pay, better integration with the Gear S3, Secure Folder and few other little things. To me even the Note 8 still takes better photos than the S9+. S9+ really had the potential to have the best camera but Samsung dropped the ball with it's processing and I hope it gets fixes with the next update, which I'm hoping is the reason for the longer delay than usual. The Pixel is a great device still the smoothest and best camera of them all. Bottom line is get which ever works best for your needs. After this week I was going to switch back to my N8 because of the camera issues but since I'm carrying around the Pixel 2 XL with me I'll just use that for shots I want with better quality.

IMO, the Pixel 2 XL is definitely worth it's asking price as it gives you the flagship specs and performance but just a different experience from their competitors. That's the beauty of loving Android is we have more to choose from.

Welcome to rehab ....I have the same 3 phones 😂😂😂 can't part with any of them

That's a good lineup of phones! Which one are you using right now?

Thanks ....I use the pixel for work and iPhone x and Samsung for private I favor the s9+ a little more and my wife broke her iPhone 8 ...so shes using the x for time being.

The pixel lacks in many areas!... I can't imagine a person paying a 1,000 dollars for the Pixel Xl, just for the camera! Way overpriced!..
Some would say the same about the Note or S9 series. Just depends on what a person likes

I think we've actually seen those people. "wtf! for $1000 it shouldn't break when I drop it" and something something, "why no software updates?"

Bottom line is, no matter how good an OEM makes a device, there are always going to be people that complain about it.

Absolutely. People will spend their money where it matters... As they should, of course. What one person may drop a pretty penny on may make another scoff. Just as I spent money on my Pixel 2, I would not want to spend the same on an S9. It's just preference, as you've stated. :)

Now days most people sit on forums and reads reviews from current owners and go see the phones personally to decide their purchase....many people see lot of YouTube videos as well...and people who have already had a phone with wireless charger will want to buy their next phone with that feature ...I think water resistant is one feature all PHONES or at least flagship PHONES should have

I gave up wireless charging.... Not as necessary with rapid charging.

I take back what I said about the S9+ blowing the Pixel 2 XL out of the water. After living with both for 2 weeks and more comparison shots, I can't make up my mind. I get more clear, clean shots with the Pixel but I also get more noise and desaturated/off colors. In every comparison shot there are reasons to give it to the S9+ and reasons to give it to the Pixel 2 XL. I like all the extra camera settings and features of the S9+ but I think I should have just kept my S7 :o As for the phone, I prefer the Samsung. That display is amazing. I prefer the punchy colors and I just like overall "Samsung experience". At least we have both phones in the house so I have access to both cameras.

Have you gone into the display settings on your Pixel and changed the colors to saturated? When I changed the setting on mine the colors are right there with the S9+.

S9 plus is betterI have both phone and one of the thing i love is the pixel 2 xl stock android fluidily. Wish s9 plus would come with stock android. After using package disabler on the galaxy s9 plus and disabling all the thing i dont use or running in the background. I have manage to SURPASS PIXEL 2 XL FLUIDITY AND SPEED. Plus 7+ hour battery on every charge.

I really want to write a guide on how i did it. Not sure yet.

Now my pixel 2 xl even after factory reset is more laggy than my s9 plus.... not that the pixel 2 xl is laggy in any way but scrolling stutter and frame skip is more noticeable now on the pixel 2 xl after doing what i did.

You're right the S9 doesn't blow the pixel out o' the water... It blows it out of the universe!!!! ;)

I hope all knows I'm kidding lol... I think they're both great phones! Imo they are the 2 best phones available right now! It all has to do with preferences.

Having an S9(which I love) I'm now considering getting a Pixel 3 in October(if its released then like I think it'll be).
I need to go to the Casino ASAP cause I've been on a lucky streak - horseshoe up my *** n' all lol!!! I won the PS4 VR Skyrim bundle from AC(Thanks again!) then I just won the 5000$ Best Buy Shopping spree from filling out the survey on the receipt after buying a new case for my S9 :) I thought it was a scam when I got it Fed Ex'd this morning but called corporate and it's legit! I asked them the odds and they said it varies but they give one away every 3 months and 1.4 million people entered for this one!!! BOOM :D
I'm sorry for hijacking this thread but am SUPER SUPER excited!!!!!!

Wow!! I've done a ton of those survey things and never won a single thing.

I gotta say, I had a chance to hold/look at my boyfriend's brother's S9 recently, and it is a beautiful phone - especially the Lilac version! Can definitely see why it'd be a worthwhile purchase.

This whole thread seems pretty pointless.

There's things people like and hate about the S9+ and there's things people like and hate about the Pixel 2 XL. Neither one is better than the other.

I prefer the Pixel 2 XL because of regular software updates. That's important to me in a device and it may not be important for other people.

Yup, regular software updates are important to me too and that's one of the reasons why I chose the Pixel 2.

Yes, I did. I found that the first day. It does help.
