S9 Plus Clear Film

Sorry if this is a foolish question but is there a clear film around the sides of the S9 Plus? It looks like I should peel it off but don't want to accidently scratch it if I'm wrong.

Yes, there is a clear film around the edges and I assume it's there to protect it from scratches ... I took mine off because it was peeling.

yes, i had the same thing on my s9 when i bought it. i peeled it off before i stuck it in a case

According to all unboxing videos I've watched (they opened the US versions, Philippines, Indian, UK, and Pakistan versions), they all had the films around the aluminum frames.
