Sadly, I am returning my U11 to HTC

Same here, I'm on Verizon and don't have any problems. I just use YouMail to replace Visual VoiceMail and I use Truecaller for caller ID and blocking spam.

How about video calling? I was surprised when I noticed it missing today (I'm not bothered by most of the other stuff).

Mine's going back too. It disconnected from VZW network last night and won't reconnect.
On VZW website the phone shows up as registered, but my signal bars are crossed out and I got no network.

Why are people still using Verizon? The coverage from competitors like att and tmobile rivals it and at a much better price. You also don't have to deal with this fiasco of not being able to buy gsm unlocked phones and getting them to work.

In my case, it's because VZW is the only service that gets usable signal at my house.

Yeah agree I think there is some small percent of people who probably get only Verizon signal. Similar to how there are people who may only get At&T or T-Mobile signal but you don't hear them complaining about phones working because it just works on them unlike Verizon. I'm glad I'm not stuck with one carrier and can choose a carrier where I have the freedom and options to use most phones.

AT&T, maybe. T-Mobile, not even close. While they've improved their coverage by leaps and bounds, they still have a very long way to go until they can really compete with the big two in terms of coverage footprint.

I've compared prices and plans with att and T-Mobile and my Verizon plan is the same or cheaper. Several price comparisons, including one by Consumer Reports, ranked Att as the highest price carrier.

That's a "your mileage may vary" thing. I've tried them all (except for Sprint) and Verizon is easily the most reliable network for where I live and travel. T-Mobile is a joke, can't even get a reliable signal in my house, and AT&T's customer service is abysmal. The AT&T network was OK, but again, in my house it was very hit or miss. The better question is, why on earth would you release a phone and expect it to generate widespread sales and recognition in the US by handicapping it with the nation's No. 1 mobile provider? And it's obviously something HTC was concerned with, otherwise it wouldn't have spread the false narrative that it was certified to work with Verizon this time around. Oh and Verizon isn't that expensive for our five lines of unlimited data.

A question for those who returned their U11 to HTC - how long did it take to process the return?

It says 5-7 days. Tomorrow is day 7 for me. As soon as I receive my refund, I'll report back. Others?

My return was received on Wednesday, June 28, but it hasn't yet been processed and the online status still displays "Quantity Pending Return: 1." Per my original RMA e-mail, the 5-7 business timeframe is actually how long it will take for the refund to be issued after the return has been processed.

Gotcha. If that's the case, mine still says 'Quanity Pending Return: 1' too and, according to FedEx, mine was delivered on 23 June. As soon as this status changes, I'll update.

I ordered 2 U11s in Sapphire Blue but by mistake i ordered Black. I returned those by UPS Canada on 21June to Amazon USA and got an email from them about refund issued to my credit card on 26 June.

Amazon is always prompt when it comes to issuing refunds. HTC/Digital River seems to take a while longer.

sadly, I'm returning mine too. I am going to an S8 plus because I want Samsung Pay, wireless charging, AOD, wifi calling, and visual voicemail (VZW). The HTC U11 is awesome but I want those other features. They seem to be more competitive this year, but not quite there, just like LG.

I'm just the opposite here than those who have decided to return the phone in favor of something else.

I gave up a lot of the things that I swore I couldn't do without when I took my v20 back.

Here's my reason for choosing the u11.

Quality.

See I used to blame the carriers for gimping the phones but it didn't ever really matter to them.

I used to blame the manufacturers for catering to the carriers and this didn't ever matter to them.

So I decided to get the best phone that did what I actually needed it to do, not all the things I wanted or wished it would do.

I chose to get a phone that didn't make me feel like I was just settling and offered me a great experience out of the box on a carrier that I knew was offering me the best deal to sign on with them and wasn't so full of themselves to screw me over just because they could.

Last year I would have never dreamed of being on Sprint having another carrier branded phone, but here I am and it is night and day different than what I expected.

No Amoled screen, no wireless charging, no secondary display or AOD... and no fm radio or any removable battery...

What I gained overall out of the box is the smoothest quickest best sounding phones with the best signal quality wifi and Bluetooth connectivity I have ever owned.. This I thought was impossible but its the honest truth. Sprint has made a huge leap in their network and side by side with AT&T and Verizon on coverage.

I'm not trying to disuade anyone from going to another phone or staying with their carrier, but I would advise any to check them out and see if they can work. Now that isn't going to get the features that you want to have but you can examine your needs and see if having this good of device will serve you well enough to satisfy them. It's all about compromises these days... I did and I am not stressing out about it anymore. Battery life is excellent over 6 hours SOT and yes I am a heavy user. It just works better than I have ever seen.

I couldn't be happier with my HTC U 11 on Sprint. The network has come a long way. So has their customer service.
