Safe to switch?

The Sprint rep I talked to said new accounts aren't subject to the $35 restocking fee. Either way if I have to pay the $35 fee it's still worth it to save the $125 a few months later.

well... I went in yesterday picked up a 4G to tide me over til the 24th and qualify for the credit

Question. My family currently has 3 phones (2 on Sprint each with their own plans and one on Boost Mobile). I'm going to bring all 3 under one Sprint Family Plan. Would the transition of the Boost line over to Sprint qualify for the $125 credit or would it not since they are technically operating under the same parent company? The live would technically need to be "ported" over to Sprint's network so I wonder if it would qualify?

Anyone have any experience or knowledge on this scenario? Thanks in advance!

Anyone have any knowledge of the above?

Can anyone tell me if I do the premiere Evo 3D purchase on the 21st online will I be able to complete all the port in credit procedures to qualify for the $125 credit even though I may not physically receive the phone until after the 23rd?

Just a heads up. Exchanges from other phones to the 3D are not going to be allowed in some places due to constrained inventory. If it's like last year, It took over 30 days from launch to have any available stock, on the 4G, so be very careful with this tactic.

Stores will have to have first come stock for all preorders/reservation lists, and to cover any defective unit exchanges. So don't be shocked if you try to do a 30 day swap and can't get a 3D due to stock issues.

I asked about this and was told since I pre-ordered it weeks ago, that there will for sure be one there for me.

I can see them sending 55 phones if they have 50 pre-ordered, but why if a store has 50 pre-orders would sprint send 25?

If you had a preorder, I expect you would be fine.

Stores allocations are based on several things, not just preorders. Paid preorders will get filled at launch, but low volume stores can get 0 extra. The retailers put the phones where they will move. So if a store has 10 paid preorders and a 100 person reserved (unpaid reservation) list, they might get 11 phones at launch and have to fill the other 99 reservations with the trickle that comes in after.

Ok, cool, **phew** glad I wasn't missing something... although since i came from a dumbphone im overwhelmed even at "just" the 4G

although looking at it now... should the reciept say anything about a preorder?... Mine just says "giftcard in retail"

Can't answer that one for ya, don't work at a Sprint store. Maybe someone else can lend a hand. :-\

On my bestbuy reciept it does say EVO 3d preorder. I went to a Sprint store and ask about preorders and he said that the gift card gets you a phone, if your name is on the list.

i just posted it in the sprint pre orders thread so i dont clog this one up, even though its pretty much dead anyway :)

I pre-ordered mine on Sunday, the receipt just says retail gift card but she also gave me a confirmation number. I ported over to Sprint tonight and got an EVO 4G so I can get the service credit(I'll end up returning it on the 24th to get the 3D). I was going to use the gift card tonight but my sales rep said no, that's how my pre-order is stored. So I'll just use it on the 24th to cover the price difference.
