How do you safely remove a usb stick from a galaxy A9 tablet.
I have searched online for info, but nothing offered works, the pull down menu does not show any usb mass storage device , within the settings - device care - storage there is no listing for any mass storage device to unmount. What am I missing? Some help and advice please
Many thanks

Here's a few 'how to' links, in case you haven't searched or seen similar yet:

In the My Files app, select the USB drive, and then tap the 3-dot menu button at the upper right -- you don't see Unmount there? I confirmed it's there on my Tab S9 FE+.

Does not work for me , the usb although recognised in my files there is no facility to unmount, remove safely ect. If I remove it with out doing so I get warnings. Still at a loss.

I cannot get a screenshot, following the direction of pressing the power button and the volume down button does not work all it does is go to the shutdown screen , power off and restart option. There is no option from the pull down menu either.

They would need to be pressed at the same time , or use Palm swipe across the screen.

Restart your device also then plug the USB device check my files app if it's there and then 3 dots upper right corner

It can be tricky -- you have to press both buttons exactly at the same time. Keep trying it a few more times.

You can also try the palm swipe method. Turn it on by going to Settings>Advanced Features>Motions & Gestures. https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/...ake-a-screenshot-on-my-samsung-galaxy-device/
Many thanks.
The palm swipe works, button pushing doesn't no matter how many times I tried and I tried many many times, I was begining to think my four month old A9 + was defective with this function.

Ok, glad you got the screenshot working! The screenshot I'd be interested in would be if you open the My Files app, then select the USB drive, and then tap the associated 3-dot menu button at the upper right. I want to see if there's an Unmount option there.

Hmm, that's very different from what I see:

Is this what your user interface looks like in general? This is why it can be helpful to see your screenshot, so we can compare.

I cannot seem to produce my user interface like your example above, if I go into file viewer it shows the plugged in usb along with its contents but there is no facilty to unmont it.
Perhaps I'm missing something .
