I also believe that in a couple of weeks they will be selling it for $50 off (but the activation fee applies) and that runs through the beginning of June.
Also, in California they only charge sales tax on the cost of the device. Sounds wierd, but most stores charge sales tax for the full price, regardless of the price you pay. Getting that GS3 for $49? Enjoy paying about $65 in sales tax. That "free" EVO LTE? Yep, if free means $65 in sales tax.
