Samsing Galaxy Tab 7.0: WIFI connection problems

i have a Samsung galaxy tablet 7.0 an i am trying to text my friends and my wifi bars are white i tried turning on and off air plain mode and a hole bunch of other stuff it still wont work

Are you sure you have full access to the WIFI your attempting to connect with? Password/WEP key, etc?

Also have you tried removing the saved WIFI connection from your list and re-entering it from scratch?
