Samsung 7s edge screen times put

I have changed my settings to stay on for 30 mins. Yet the phone times out in seconds even when I have smart on and looking at screen. What can I do?

Welcome to Android Central! Just to be certain -- that option you set for 30 minutes was the screen timeout, and not the Lock Automatically option, right?

Also, do you have any power-saving modes turned on?

Also, check your case. I have a border case on mine (no screen protector) and the power button is barely misaligned with its button on the case. The button is always triggering the power button, but the case has saved my phone about 5 times from being dropped now, and it's the only good one I could find with a belt clip. So it's more than worth it.
