Samsung A32 won't let me run GBoard and other apps

I have GBoard set at the default keyboard and have tried everything I know how to do but it keeps using the stock keyboard.

Much the same for the notifications. I have another notifier app I prefer but it keeps on using the stock one. How do I override them?

Go to settings>general management>keyboard default tap.and select Gboard
