Hello,

Today my Samsung A5 became unresponsive, when the phone is turned on, it won't get past the Samsung logo.

It seems to be a common problem so I've tried the following

Vol Dwn + Power......Phone reboots but doesn't get past the Samsung logo.

I can't turn the phone off when stuck, the only way I can turn the phone off is connecting the phone to the USB port on My Computer & using Vol Dwn + Power.

After getting the phone powered off. I've tried to boot into recovery using Vol Up + Home + Power...the phone won't boot into recovery...proceeds to Samsung logo and doesn't get any further.

Can anyone help or do I need to send it for repair :(

If you can't get past the logo, it sounds like the firmware is corrupt. You have several options if you don't mind doing it yourself.

You can flash the OS with Samsung's own maintenance tool. Look here for help:
[Guide][Samsung] How to flash Stock ROM via ODIN with the New Interface

You can also reload the OS with Samsung's Smart Switch. That's Samsung's consumer utility. Smart Switch will identify your device, grab the correct firmware, and install it.

Here's a YouTube video that explains how to use Smart Switch. It's not my video. This for a Galaxy S6 Edge, but the process is probably similar. The Smart Switch application has been updated (this video is almost two years old), so it looks a little bit different than in the video. The part that you need is almost the same. In the video, the tab you want is labelled "Software Update and Initialization". Now it's called DEVICE INITIALIZATION.

Your basic steps:
1. Connect your phone and hit the MORE button on the upper right corner of the Smart Switch window.
2. Click on EMERGENCY SOFTWARE RECOVERY AND INITIALIZATION.
3. Click on DEVICE INITIALIZATION.
4. Click OK and follow the prompts.

I downloaded the latest firmware "A510FXXU4BQC1_A510FMET4BQC1_A510FXXU4BQC1_HOME.tar" and flashed successfully via ODIN but the phone still won't get past the Samsung logo?

Wow. If the phone won't load even with fresh firmware, then the only thing left is a hardware issue. That would mean a repair ticket.
