Samsung Car Doc: Change default car dock app

1st things first... Verizon is selling the car dock and desk doc together as a bundle right now for like $15 or something. REALLY REALLY CHEAP. So I purchased it.

Now.

How do I change the default car doc app that launches when I plug the phone into the car dock? Instead of launching the lame Bing based app that Verizon preinstalled; i'd like it to auto-launch the Google Car Home or some other app (i'm trying to decide which one I like best)?

You need to be rooted. Once you are you can delete the stock apps that come on your phone. I used Titanium Backup to delete these files. Then apply your car dock app. Their are a few to choose from in the market.

Why is root needed for this? Can't you just install a car dock application? When phone is inserted into car dock, choices should come up. Choose one as the default. I personally use CarHome Ultra.

Just do a search in the app Market their are several different one, most of them free and u can design them to your liking.

Since no one had replied, I ended using Titanium to freeze the stock Car Home and installed the Google Car home and also the Custom Car Home apps.

Prior to freezing the stock app, I wasn't given the choice when plugging into the dock, now that the stock app is frozen I do get a choice between the two other aftermarket ones I installed. The only issue I now have is that I can't get sound out from the line out jack with either of the aftermarket apps. Any suggestions?

Try Galaxy Dock Redirector read some people used this it's free in the market have not had a chance to use it my self.

I use it, works great. But without using the specific aftermarket apps I can't tell you if it will or won't work with them, but it's worth a shot
