Has anyone canceled their pre-order? I remember when the N20 Series dropped if you canceled your pre-order, they sent you a follow-up email with a link for an additional discount if you pre-ordered again. Just wondering if that's happened yet. These trade-in deals are pretty bad. I didn't realize how good or bad they were since I hadn't upgraded over the last 3 years. I figured now is probably the best time to upgrade since my N20U is 3yrs old.

With Verizon you have WiFi calling on unlocked. You also gain things on unlocked such as call and text on other devices. Updates, they come when they come. Look at it this way, if a update comes out that bricks phones, you have time to block it or it gets fixed before you get it. A lot of watch 4 users wished that was a possibility when their watches bricked after the update and they had to send them in to get fixed.

By the way real quick, how did your trade in go on the watch 4 deal? Then back on subject. Lol

Thanks! trade in went through so we are good there. I just spoke to Samsung cause I am logged in on their site and she said yes you will get 150 instant credit which I don't really need anything but what about the $50 for reserving is that added in to this 150 or should I have gotten a separate email with a code.

And I told her I can get a healthcare discount i think $60 something dollars but didn't want to make a whole new account and would I still get my 150 and get to use my 50 reserve if I made a new account and she said yes but how about I send you a link to buy from with $50 off the phone but I forgot I have to use Ratuken to get the $96. I'm still trying to decide what to do. Well her email link came and I don't see an extra $50 off the phone anyway so maybe I need to make a new account with my work email and use Ratuken with that if it will work. I just remember one time I had a promo code and it wasn't going to work with work discount I think.

Why does anyone care about the color when y'all put concrete block cases on them anyway....

I punched in Best buy just to see what the trade-in would be to get an unlocked and it told me it was only $400 but you got $100 Best buy gift card. I'd rather do Samsung and use Ratuken plus earlier it told me 100 plus 50 in credit. So with Verizon do we lose anything having unlocked like Wi-Fi calling or anything else. I don't remember how it was when we left Sprint and had our S10 Plus that was our first time with unlocked cause we knew we were leaving Sprint cause others always had signal when we didn't.

Also when you buy from Samsung does it make you use your credit right away? I think someone said it did it's been both ways for me in the past but last time I think I had to use it right away.

You lose the Verizon to Verizon video calling, buy I don't miss that as Google Meet (or many other services) works, and you can go between carriers too!

Call and text on other devices is great too as somebody else mentioned. I have not missed the Verizon branded phones at all since I switched to unlocked several years ago.

I wouldn't mind locking in to 3 years with Verizon as I have been with them for 23 years - but I don't want to lock into the S22 Ultra for 3 years. I had to pay out the contract on a pair of Note 9s when we upgraded those, and that was in the 24 month bill credit days.

We went unlocked and never looked back.

I'm still holding out to see if the trade in values go up. If not, I'll check out the Fold 5 later in the year.

i have a similar experience with @danhartman26.

been a very long time TMobile guy, however, when their program (forgot its name) of essentially renting a phone via a monthly fee, and one has the option of swapping the phone out up to twice a year went from a good deal to a horrible deal, i went directly to Samsung.com and bought unlocked ever since - it's been roughly 4-ish years now, i think, iirc.

there's no reason not to. having an extra layer of firmware by any carrier on top of Android and Samsung's own software interface is just taxing the processor more and slowing things down. i see no upsides at all at this point.

Someone refresh my memory on up to what point of your order status can you cancel. I'm still on the fence but pre-ordered a Ultra anyway just in case because I'm interested in better low light video recording and some of the other camera improvements.

If it follows past patterns, you'll probably start seeing ppl post that their cancel button is gone Tues. or Wed.

But if you pay it off early then you do not get the full value of the trade in. Bcause the trade in value comes as bill credits over the whole 36 months. So you lose money if you pay it off early.

i'm forced to use a minimalist case because i have to use a Popsocket now due to my hand surgery, and Popsockets can't adhere to the current trend of glass-backed phones.

Yeah I think I'm going to tell my husband we should just do it. I don't want to wait and then trade ins not go up by much and at least now we're getting the $150 credit which I don't really care about but the free storage upgrade is nice. Plus the 15% off Ratuken $96 that helps. I just need to decide. But yeah Unlocked is what we will get he wants that anyway and I just want the lavender phone .

Question when you go to pre-order and it says use it or lose it $150 and i clicked on accessories and it only shows so many things so do you have to choose from what it shows you? I did see the buds pro2 are 169.99 but I have the buds pro and don't really need that I would probably do a case an extra charger I don't know can you do a watch band? I just checked my orders I got the Galaxy Buds Pro in Feb 2021 when we got our 21U. Their fine I don't use them much.
