Samsung Device Care sharing data with China?

Re: Samsung device care phoning home to china

Not surprised. I always figured the change from Clean Master to 360 was a lateral move within a cesspool.

I didn't realize 360 was on latest Samsung phone until I checked storage ..bad move Samsung:(

Re: Samsung device care phoning home to china

It's been there for a couple of years or so. I remember that after Samsung got rid of Clean Master maybe 2 or 3 years ago, 360 showed up right afterwards.:-\

Re: Samsung device care phoning home to china

Very disappointed about this!

I installed Netguard recently and blocked wifi and cellular data to Device care...and it took another dozen apps with it including OTA update checking. I've never seen so many server connections in an app...literally every app and every tracker on your phone is being traced here. Nice of Samsung to give away the keys to a Chinese company. And hide it in a device checking and security app of all things LOL. Seems to be a lot of that going around lately.

I think it's fair to say any plans for an S11/S20 whatever they're calling it is firmly on the back burner now...

The Chinese were right after all - no need to stress about 5G security / Huawei. Our phones are all infested with Chinese spyware anyway.

Re: Samsung device care phoning home to china

i highly doubt samsungs gonna let that third party company to have our data... we are safe guys... lol

Re: Samsung device care phoning home to china

I just tried it. The ad blocker isn't working well enough. Adguard still does a better job...

Re: Samsung device care phoning home to china

The problem is they have incorporated some useful features in this app so that adb uninstall will remove those features also. Huawei does the same thing with their "Optimiser" app.
