Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Wonder if I should make a second order and order from BB or AT&T and return or cancel the other one once one of them ship!? People are getting theirs shipped from AT&T that bought on Saturday.

I don't even have a shipping label yet so I can't do much. I might have to leave by friday. They are really getting freaked out about getting people out of here.

Blues Fan, I am sorry if you are getting caught up in Irma. If so, please stay safe.

I received a tracking number a few days ago. It still shows up as no shipment yet when I check the UPS site.

Seems with the Note 7, they were shipped to FedEx, at least for me, and sat at FedEx until they could be delivered on the release date or a day or two prior.

Samsung said the phone would ship earlier if purchased through Samsung but I was not expecting 10 days early.

And lastly, my phone is being shipped to where I will be on the 15th and I will not be at that location until Sept. 13. My phone might get there before I do!!

I ordered a Note 8 right now on AT&T. If my Samsung one ships, I will cancel the AT&T one. Waiting to see if it will beat the Samsung one and I will just put in for the free stuff.

my 3rd chat today is saying they should ship today and the tracking numbers should be live tonight

I am thinking it is an UPS vs FEDEX. I ordered through Verizon and they are using UPS for my phone. I am not getting any updates from UPS except that it is sitting in Virginia. Estimated delivery is the 7th. All the deliveries today are with FEDEX.

I think this is a DigitalRiver thing... Samsung uses DigitalRiver for their E-commerce and Logistics. Look them up on sitejabber to see what kind of company they are.

I'm a little irritated about the carriers getting phones out before the manufacturer. Considering carrier phones have software added, and screen printing added to the phones. What is actually a "third party" should never be able to ship out faster than the manufacturer. But when that manufacturer uses an absolute trash company to handle their logistics, it suddenly makes sense.

I am still excited that I should get my phone early, and at this moment, I am still glad I ordered an unlocked phone instead of a carrier phone.

"We apologize for any confusion"

It's on me for trusting Samsung

When Mr. Samsung said during his unpack event that the new Note will be available September 15, I thought I could believe him. I do not remember him saying September 5.

A near $1,000 purchase that requires a signature must be planned for in advance. September 15 I am on my vacation. Did not really want a new phone on a busy vacation because of the time it takes to customize and learn a new phone. But with a signature required, I had my phone shipped to my vacation destination.

Now, however, we have learned the phones will be delivered today, tomorrow and Thursday.

On hold right now with Samsung eCommerce to see if there is anyway to remedy this situation so that I can have a phone to my home in order to customize before I leave for my vacation. Been on now for 35 minutes.

"We apologize for any confusion this might have caused," is what I get to hear over and over again while on hold, regarding the new ship date.

This is what I get for trusting Samsung: the Chaos Company.

ultimate first world problem:

You're out of your firs world house, for a nice vacation when your $1,000 pocket computer us shipped too fast for you to get your hands on correctly.

really, none of them are issues, it is about how you take those little setbacks that will make or break your day :-)

I think you're the first one I remember complaining about a new phone coming early :) Is there anyone at that destination that can sign if it arrives early? Then you'd still have it when you get there.

Re: "We apologize for any confusion"

Yes, lol, a phone coming early is a good thing. Yes, if it were coming to my home address I would be thrilled.

No, sadly there is no one to sign for it, which is why I had it sent to my location for the 15th.

You can probably ask them to hold it after they do the first delivery and it fails. That way once there you can go pick it up from the local store that has it.

Technically anything on this board is a first world issue so .. I don't see your point. If we went by your logic we would tell anyone with a problem it is a first world problem and dismiss it.. but we don't ;).

Re: "We apologize for any confusion"

So they shipped too fast? Lol
To be fair, in her (albeit unique) situation I can see how it would be a problem... People have to plan around when Samsung says its going to ship and changing that date on the spur of the moment could cause problems...
