Yea I saw that too. Also remember people with the S8 promo recently were sending in working, mint condition almost phones and getting rejected because the battery drained over time and other stuff that was BS. I wouldn't touch this promo with a 15 foot pole. Better off trading it in at your carrier or at best buy.

One good thing about it is that Samsung uses fed ex and requires a sig. Tmobile uses UPS and my Note 7 he just dropped it off at the door and left before we even got at the front door to open it!

I got new construction going on around me and I don't like stuff sitting out there with shady people across the street working right now.

Another option since I'm on tmobile is just buy the unlocked one from Best Buy or order it from them after release day for in store pickup. Since wifi calling works on unlocked Galaxy devices with Tmobile anyway.

just pre-ordered mine and got the instant $425 off. I have a galaxy s5 active (which in the fine print was listed as one that could be traded in) that I'll be sending them. After last summer and N7 saga I didn't know if i'd go that route again, but I'm excited now.

ok little help please.. if you order through samsung for your carrier and if you have a phone but not yet available for upgrade (sprint reset my upgrade when i got the s7 after turning in my note 7) and you turn in your carrier phone do they give you problems trying to turn the samsung phone on. Because the prices are the same for the installments and insurance.

Because you can sacrifice certain features that the carrier may provide that you need. Not everything they pack in there is trash. Not anymore at least. LoL

I just preordered, full price, from Sammy today. I have always been a Note person, and I have had to go without for way too long, when I turned in my second Note 7. I sprang for the extra shipping charge to get mine overnight from when they are shipping (apparently September 11). I think I will get my S8+ unlocked (I am on AT&T), so I can sell it easier. Now I start counting the days.

It was a mess. Every one got their preorder phones before we did and exchange was horrible, plus if you get one with a problem it's not easy to get an exchange.

I hope this won't be the case this year. I just pre-ordered an unlocked Note 8 from Samsung. I decided to do the express delivery. Right now I think...yeah, it won't be a big deal if it doesn't come right away, but I know when everyone else is getting theirs, if mine is late, I'll be a raging maniac.

But I really wanted the $425 discount. I think it's great that Samsung is doing that, and I just need to keep my trade-in (an iPhone 6s+, which I'm really not that big a fan of) in good shape.

I was really hoping for the new Gear Fit 2 Pro to be one of the gift options so I'm disappointed that it's not, but I went with the SD card/wireless charger, because I'd buy those anyway.

Ha! I could have written this post! I'm also on AT&T, but when I had to turn my Note 7 in (the second time), I got an unlocked s7 Edge, and I loved not having all of AT&T's stuff on there. Plus of course being able to sell it easier on Swappa was a bonus.
