Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

And I just got shipped info in my FedEx app (nothing from Samsung) 2 day delivery (I paid for overnight and my order still shows overnight) looks like it will be here Monday.

Anyone ever had success in calling FedEx and having them upgrade a delivery to overnight?

I can verify that this is, at least in some cases, 100% false.

Yeah that's pretty much a bogus answer. Nothing is 100% bogus IN SOME CASES. I stated it's possible that other will be able to. Never once did I say you cannot 100% stone cold fact not request a pick up. I said that I tried a multitude of difderent channels to no avail. Each said the exact same thing; "the shipper has requested delivery to address with release upon acquiring signature. I happy for those who've managed to rearrange the shipment to pick up.
I can verify that this is, at least MY CASE, is 100% true.

Ordered on 8/29. Card just got a pending charge for the amount minus the priority shipping I selected. No email yet. I used the note 7 owners promotion.

Whoop!

Yeah I would like to see some movement on the Samsung order page. I had almost talked myself into canceling and waiting until the iPhone 8 announcement to decide. So I’m still on the hook with Samsung. Can’t justify going to T-Mobile and dropping an extra few hundred dollars for the same thing.

My gut tells me that it will switch to processed sometime late tonight or early tomorrow, and be delivered Monday or Tuesday.

Ok crap, can someone explain how this works for me?

My Note 8 just arrived, I pre-ordered through Samsung (trading in my S7) and my total was $550. Now, on the AT&T site it says "Pay $33.06 and trade in your device to upgrade early" & "Balance Remaining after Current Installment: $430." Question is I STILL owe AT&T their money too (or $430), would I have saved any money in the long run by upgrading through AT&T over going through Samsung like I did?

Got an email from UPS for tomorrow from 930-130 tomorrow. Cutting it really close with the hurricane especially if I have to leave tomorrow. Forecast keep shifting west this afternoon with the latest computer models.

That is if they even deliver tomorrow.

Yes you have to payoff your phone to trade it in to Samsung.

Probably best to return your Samsung Rider and upgrade through att.

Right, but as far as total amount of $$$ at the end of the day, would I have gotten the Note 8 through AT&T for $550 or less (the price I paid thru Samsung). I was a former Note 7 customer.

Just to be clear- when the status changes from Pre- order to Confirmed, do you receive an email stating this? I’ve been periodically checking my order status manually.

I have the same question too. What's weird is that when I spoke to the Rep via Chat & Email, they both stated that my order is confirmed, But it doesn't show on my order page. *shrugs* Mines it the T-Mobile version.

To me it sounds like you made the better choice going through samsung and trading in the S7 if you pay off the $430. Theoretically you then got the note 8 for about $550, so between $900 and $1000 spent ultimately. I don't know if att had a promotion, but hypothetically you go through them and trade in the S7 and restart with a $900 note 8. I'm likely wrong about whatever att's promo is so this is just a guess.

Pulled the trigger today to get the freebies and trade in s7 order went through won't ship until week of October 1st

No. Right now you paid Samsung $550 and trading in your S7. This requires you paying att $430. Total price paid is $980.

If you turn your Samsung order you can pay att $33 plus the price of the note 8 from them. It's almost a wash.

I didn't get an email. Mine switched from preorder to confirmed online today. I have no tracking yet.

So odd that mine is coming FedEx while everyone else is UPS. I wonder why that is? Anyone else getting theirs FedEx?

According to Samsung's FAQ you can trade in a financed phone, but you're still responsible for making the payments to the carrier.

Still should inquire with your carrier.
