Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

My email said September 11 for a ship date. I actually received my Note8 on September 7th.

Soooo I just spoke to a customer rep who talked to the manager who said she is in direct contact with the warehouse
The reason for the delays is that they weren't getting enough FEDEX agents to come get the packages in time (they are saying FEDEX is at fault) but I was told that I should receive a tracking confirmation either today or tomorrow and the phone should be delivered Saturday by 8PM.

I hope this is true for real this time

Smooth, when did you order and what version? Did you do the trade in? I ordered Verizon on 9/5 with trade in. Confirmation said would arrive by today and that's not happening because it hasn't even shipped yet.

Not worth it to me. Normally I either wait a month or so or if I really want the phone, I go to verizon day of the release, they always have stock. ONLY reason I preordered this time was for $425 trade in; plus the pay in full option is nice. I don't like extra monthly payments.

what Ive seen in today's messages is anyone who ordered a verizon variant after 9/1 still has no update and no notifications... is there anyone who would break that pattern?

Smooth, when did you order and what version? Did you do the trade in? I ordered Verizon on 9/5 with trade in. Confirmation said would arrive by today and that's not happening because it hasn't even shipped yet.

I ordered on 8/30 I have the T-Mobile version. I am a Note 7 customer and yes I did the trade-in but haven't traded in ym device yet. The customer rep says they see a more updated and detailed version of the order status than we see from our order page.

From what I'm noticing, carrier versions will ship faster then the unlocked versions

Some good news. I now have "in transit" on my UPS tracking but it appears it only has moved in the warehouse as it has the origin scan this morning. Hopefully this means it will be put on the truck tonight and I will have it tomorrow.

I ordered on 9/4, Note 7 owner, unlocked. Got a shipping date of 10/1 for the phone and 9/15 for the Gear 360. My order is still showing pre-order with option to cancel. The gear 360 should have shipped already to arrive tomorrow as promised, but still in pre-order.

By the way if you pre-order today the unlocked version, you get a shipping date of 10/15, Samsung must be struggling with an overwhelming demand.

Spoke with Samsung and I was told that anyone who ordered before the 28th will receive by today, Anything after October 1st?

I'm extremely livid right now if this is true, because when I preordered, it said September 15th, So that was my expectation.

I could easily get a Note 8 tomorrow at my carrier if 1. I didn't work for said carrier and 2 they had the Note 7 trade deal.

This is simply ridiculous.

Note 8 Verizon in Midnight Black
Ship by 15th.
Paid overnight delivery
Previous Note 7 owner

Me too. Identical story. I'd like to. cancel at this point but I don't trust them to refund my credit card. Anybody have good luck canceling?

I'm gonna call Samsung everyday until I get tracking...they will get tired of me but idc

You can refuse delivery earlier then expected and go to Best buy and buy it. Lol. Good news for you

I'm tempted to cancel and order from Best Buy, you still get to redeem for the same freebie(s) if you order by today... but how long will it take to get that... if i walk into the store tomorrow I can get one, but sans freebies I would suspect.

If it was going to be until Oct 1 I would... but who knows.. everyone's getting different stories.

After calling them and explaining my situation. the customer rep escalated my issue to the warehouse. I was sent an email the next day allowing me to update my payment details. When I did, the payment went through immediately

I hate to be the bad news bringer, but I doubt you are going to get it the same time as them, most likely weeks to a month after them

Best Buy web page says it would arrive Tuesday the 19th if ordered today to get the freebies, no in store pickup. So really its wait for Samsung and the free stuff, or cancel and get just the phone tomorrow in-store.

I will be thinking about that all evening.

Is it not reasonable to expect that a. you get your phone before none note 7ers and b. Get it before or the day of release? I mean what's the point of pre-ordereding?
