Samsung Dock app alternative?

So, I ordered the Samsung branded dock from New Egg ($23.99 w/ free shipping...)

got it today and (like everybody who reviewed the thing in the app store) I'm finding the stock app to be less than stellar (to say the least.) Sorry if this has been covered before, but I'm wondering if there are any other apps that will accomplish the same thing without rooting the phone (I don't want to that...yet. I've had the worst luck with phones the last couple times i've got a new phone and don't want to void my warranty)

If this is the actual Samsung vehicle mount, rooting wouldn't do you much good either. This worked for me for the first time today, and it is still a total kludge. It requires kernel support for the option (test kernel only), as well as the Roger's carcradle.apk, and even then, there are steps to follow if you want to use anything besides the music player (like Pandora for example). The xda guys got tired of waiting too, and started to hack on it a bit.

The best work-around until something easier comes about, is what I had been doing... I rotated the mount around and put the phone in backwards. Plug it in every time. Still works ok for a mount, better than the heat vent one I used before.

It is the USB Audio out that is holding up the show.

I'm getting to the point i'm about to start learing app decelopment so I can build my own lol

It is the same problem on the desk dock, USB audio out. The rogers deskcradle app also fixes it, so long as you have the kernel support.
