Just went into a retail BB location and they have the Epic for $229.99 for new activations starting tomorrow. This conflicts with the earlier dummy-phone photo, so here is a photo ....

SWEET!

This just made my day, pick up my Epic tomorrow @ best buy and Im loving the 20 price differential! I ordered from BB simply becuz of not having to deal with the MIB, and this is icing on my cupcake! :p

1st android, leavng Trash Mobile and cant wait!

I don't get how Best buy can charge $150 more for off contract.

They make money by getting you to sign the contract, so if you don't get a contract they don't get any money from sprint. This is why they hike up off contract price so they can still make money off the deal. Now on another note why doesn't sprint ( or any other carrier ) just eliminate rebates and keep other people/companies out their pockets? Be honest would you even consider another store if sprint offered instant rebates? The only reason I would go to another store if sprint were out of stock or if other store was closer. In fact I am going to start a thread and poll about this.

Probably because it's free money when someone forgets to do their rebate or does something to make themselves ineligible. The only reason places like Best Buy and Radio Shack don't make you deal with the rebate is because they basically pay the upfront cost for you and get the rebate refund from Sprint later.

This is enough to make me wanna take out a third line so I can get this phone for my wife she got the long forgotten hero (lol) but I'm tempted to do that wonder if they will let me put this on my wifes number if I do it?

Don't put too much stock in this guys. There is no real confirmation that all best buys will have it at this price.

Doesn't BB tax off the regular price of the phone so if they increase it, they make more money?

Best Buy is advertising the $229 price on their website, but its only for new 2-year contracts, not full eligible upgrades
