Samsung Galaxy Buds review: Exceptional everyday earbuds.

Ok, you can take this for what it's worth, and we all know what is said about free stuff.

I have a higher level ham radio license so I do have a bit of knowledge if radio frequencies. I have been involved in various aspects of the tech industry including (many decades ago) testing the frequencies and strength of radio signals given off by the read/write heads of flying heads on the old disk drives (in order to determine how those frequencies and resonant frequencies affected the ability of the heads to read and write data on the drives). Later I owned my own tech company for twenty years until I sold it and retired so I've had my head buried in tech at various levels for a long long time.

With that background I personally believe that bluetooth, used in moderation, poses no danger to most people. If you're one of those people that I've seen with a bluetooth seemingly buried permanently in their ear then you probably have bigger issues than the bluetooth itself. Up to now I've used my wired buds, but I think I will be looking for some high quality bluetooth ear buds for myself.

Wow, great to hear about your history in tech! That's awesome. And thank you so much for your personal opinion on this. I agree with you, I wouldn't think it would pose danger in small and normal amounts.

Well I'm a doctor...of philosophy...in astrophysics. Couldn't tell you a thing about how the human body works. What I can tell you is that Bluetooth operates in the gigahertz band, which is orders of magnitude below the energy level of ionizing radiation, i.e. the level of energy needed to knock atomic electrons out of their orbitals and cause tissue damage of any kind. Basically the only thing that non-ionizing radiation can do to you is heat up your tissue (this is what a microwave oven does), and that is dependent on the amplitude of the radiation, not the frequency. Bluetooth headphones ain't gonna cook your brain or anything.

No offense to your friend from work, but this sounds like random pseudoscience. Again, I don't know anything about medicine, so if there's published research in a medical journal I'd like to see it. Barring anything like that, I'll say this: your body is constantly bombarded by radio waves from radio stations as well as microwave radiation from cell phones from others. I'm not sure your personal devices are adding appreciably to this.

Thank you very much for your input as well. I also disagree with my coworker. To be honest, he often will talk about conspiracy theories, so I think he's kinda wired (no pun intended) that way in general.

Thank you!

I like the buds. They work great. I have no complaints especially since they were free. But I don't claim to be a audiophile. I just listen to whatever I do and go about my day.

For me the size is excellent and battery life is great. I dont use both at the same time as I need to listen for other things. So for me they really last. I like them better than my icon x headphones so far.

I like the buds but I have a problem with signal cutting in/out sometimes. If I turn head to side can blink out, etc. Also if stick hand in pocket and cover back of phone then cuts out as well. Am I doing something wrong or do they have weak signals, or is Spigen rugged armor blocking? Anyone else have this issue?
