So far I am loving it. I didn't think I would buy the fold 2 when it first was announced, in fact I bought the note 20 ultra and slammed the fold 2. I was seeing way to many positive reviews and comments I finally caved and bought one. I had zero interest in the first fold, but since samsung answered the biggest negative for me which was the small front screen I decided to go for it. It took some getting used to the narrow front screen, but once I did it is nice. I don't have to stretch across the screen to tap something, it's all pretty much in reach. I find this phone very functional, very easy to reply to messages, quick Facebook checks and such things on the front screen, and when I want to sit down and get involved in something, open the phone up and have a bigger screen. Just like this comment, I can proof read a longer comment without having to scroll up and down, I can see the whole comment on the display.
If samsung keeps the technology coming, the fold screen holds up and it appears it has on the first fold after they corrected the first issue, I think I am on the fold wagon. It is so nice having the narrow screen for quick stuff so it's easier to navigate one handed and the bigger inside screen for more involved usage. To me, using a phone one handed for quick things is a bonus, I did all sorts of things on the notes to make one handed usage doable, I don't have to do anything on the front screen with the fold 2 to use front screen one handed. I figure if you need to use 2 hands to run a phone you might as well have a bigger screen. The fold 2 gives me both options with minimal footprint. I don't care if they bring the S pen to the fold myself, I'm not sure it's even a good idea with the inside screen. Samsung pushed the envelope when they first released the note and they created a monster over the years with that phone, I now think samsung is doing the same with the fold. For the fold 2 being one of the first generation folding phones, I think they did a solid job and I am so far very happy. They need improvement of course, but it is a pretty solid phone and can hold up to the note series IMO. The next model has one need before anything else, and that's the SD card slot. Samsung dropped the ball there.
Edit...I think your husband is wrong, I think the fold will keep getting better and better that you will stay with it.
Lmao I think you are right cause I haven't really thought about my old note10+ since my last post to you. Yeah I had no interest in the first fold either. Didn't like that small front screen either. Looked funny. And didn't like the camera area on inside. Right? I love being able to read most of the stuff on the screen while scrolling less. The front screen is great for when I want to quick messaging while at work when I'm too busy to open the phone which is most of the time since I work with animals. And also good when I'm laying in bed and have to do something real quick then put it back on night stand. The only thing I hate about the fold 2 is the awful inner display screen protector lmao. I'm cleaning that thing a lot lol. I just ain't taking it off til I find one I like. The front one I don't even notice lol. Well except for the few scratches I already got on that protector. But those happened when I had the phone but no cases lol. Yeah I'm ok if they don't bring the spen to the fold line. The screen will definitely have be able to handle the pen for that. Especially for the ones that are screen heavy(people that write harder on screen). Sorry that is what I call it lol. So glad you are loving it. I'm still loving it lol. Oh yeah I think the fold 3 definitely needs the SD card option. The other day at work, I had closed my fold 2 and this orlder lady was like "did you just break your phone like that?" I laughed and said no it a foldable phone called the samsung galaxy z fold 2. She said yeah never heard of it. Lol. I showed her and she was like yeah she couldn't handle this kind of phone. She said she would break it. So far I've been lucky to not have dropped it. Hope I didn't just jinx myself. Lol.
Edit: sorry for all the lol. I have a bad habit of that.
