Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 - Pre ordering?

I just cancelled my pre-order for my Fold. If the cameras weren't trash I would've kept it. I figured Samsung could make a good quality 12MP camera system but I guess not. Hopefully next year they use the same camera system as the Note series to really justify the cost. I'll wait one more year before jumping on the Fold train. Glad I watched some reviews on it.
What makes you think the cameras are "trash". The cameras may not be as good as they are on the Note 20 Ultra but, minis some zoom, I get the impression that they compare well to the Note 20 5G. ...and that, from the samples I've seen, means they're far from "trash". ...just my opinion.

What makes me think they're trash are from the reviews posted about them. I mean they say the images are fine or passable and which they probably are but I don't feel like spending the money if I know they have the capability to be much better. I feel like they left out the Note camera system so they have something to upgrade to next year. That's just me.

I'm sure the camera is adequate, but for the money they could have included a camera closer to the Note 20.

Agree that some will be fine with the quality output. But seeing the quality that comes out of the N20U with the laser focus I couldn't stand the fact that I'm spending that much money and not getting that same system or something similar. But again that's just me.

I get it, but not everyone has the same concerns or they will have to see for themselves. My concerns go beyond the camera but it's great to see the improvents from the 1st Gen. For myself, it's not something I really or want bad enough as a novelty to ignore my needs.

I totally get the want for many peeps to want the upgraded camera .. and a few more things for this phone .. I think it will get all the bells and whistles as it moves forward... Maybe even see changes to overall design ...

The Note 20 module actually looks smaller and maybe thinner than the Fold 2 setup... if you're gonna put a bump like that on a $2000 phone, it better be high end! ;)

That being said, maybe they couldn't get a more powerful setup all sorted out in time. I mean look at the N20U setup and there were reviewers saying that the camera has a shutter lag problem. And that's with the highest of specs, latest SD and 6.9" screen. Now imagine them getting it to work on a 7.6" panel all smooth, etc. Has to be a ton of procesing power and the experience could have been janky. Just a guess.

Still worlds better than the 1st gen setup.

Agree on the camera not being as good. You want the same camera features on a device that costs more and rumours say this will happen next year with periscope lens

Seems to me samsung want the fold as their main flagships starting from 2021

To me it's better off carrying a LTE tablet with you and your phone much cheaper.
Obviously there are different better options and different ways, but most who are buying this aren't thinking in those terms or value proposition.

I think they're trying to keep the cost/profit ratio at a certain level. As the foldable components get cheaper I think camera, storage, etc. will improve

Totally agree ..it’s obvious not for everyone and they not trying to put the best now...it’s just the beginning...I get on different forums peeps ripping Samsung oh too much for a phone no this or that ..I can get this phone or that ..we all agree but they know it too ..they still getting interest ...it’s all good ...different time for different folks ...

I don't know what the excuses are but that's all thay are is excuses. I'm sure the camera would be fine, except that they have raised the bar with the Note and S series cameras and it's bound to make some purchasers resentful or remorseful depending on how much they value a camera.

I still don't think it will be there main flagship in it's current form. It's a niche device because not everyone wants a folding phone. The form factor just doesn't like itself to being a primary device for most people. I don't mind a slightly thicker device but it's just too extreme in it's current state.

Missed the point. The reason these are selling are they want the tablet experience without having to carry a tablet sized device.
It really depends on your lifestyle. As a commuter I always had room in my bag for a tablet if I needed it. I find a large phone more than adequate to get the job done most of the time anyway. A folding device for me would be a novelty rather than a necessity.

Exactly....I think it's a device you buy because you want to and not because you need to.
