Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime 2016 displays moved apps as still on device

So, I recently bought the Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime 2016 and found out that more than half of the 8GB onboard storage belongs to the system and other default apps bundled with it. To remedy this, I bought a Samsung Evo+ 64GB card.

The problem is whenever I move an app to the microSD card via Device maintenance->Storage->Applications->(choose an app)->Storage->Change->(my microSD card), the app moves but what still shows in Device maintenance->Storage->Applications->(moved app)->is the same size.

I verified that this is the case by removing the microSD card and running a moved app, it wouldn't start.

I am very disappointed because now I really cannot install any of the apps I use on my old phone which takes up 300-400MB and above each.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for this? Or a workaround (which excludes rooting since I don't want to void the warranty)?

Welcome to Android Central! Moved from the More Samsung Tablets forum to the More Samsung Phones forum.

As you may know, moving an app to SD only moves a portion of the app (and often a small one at that), so it often doesn't clear up that much internal storage. Show us a screenshot of the Settings>Storage menu, as well as a screenshot of an example app that you've moved to SD. http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...ide-how-post-screenshots-android-central.html

Hi, B. Diddy! :)

I am aware that not all of an app gets transferred when moved to SD. It's just that I expect the calculation to be accurate when viewing what is on the internal storage and what is on the SD card.

Here's what I see for Jetpack Joyride using Link2SD (no, I haven't and don't have plans to format my SD and make it adoptable storage... yet. This is just to show what's on the card.)

This is what is showing under Device maintenance->Applications:

And this is what shows under Device maintenance->SD Card->Applications:

As you can see, 3.76MB should be what is showing on the SD Card, and 152.24 on internal storage. Instead it shows 156MB on both!

Weird, right?

Are you using Link2SD to move the app? If so, I thought that required root.

Nope. I just use Link2SD to view how much of an app has already been moved. Moving an app on an un-rooted device like mine with Link2SD only takes me to the default Application info screen where I can change the storage used by an app from internal to external and vice-versa.

Are the 2nd and 3rd screenshots also from Link2SD, or from the native system menu?

I'm not used to that menu. What does it show if you go to Settings>App Manager, and select Jetpack Joyride?

It shows this:

I played the game a little so that's why it's showing the same higher MBs in both external and internal storage.

Ok, what happens if you tap the Storage category on that screen? Do you get a further breakdown?

Sorry, been terribly busy. Yes it shows a breakdown (Total, Application, Data) and that Storage used is External Storage.

FInally just got my phone replaced and received the new one. Have a different problem though posted with the new one in a different though.
