Samsung Galaxy Nexus keeps rebooting

Hello to all who have been reading, i'm new to Android Forums. So my old Samsung Galaxy Nexus has been working fine until a couple of days ago. It was charging and for some reason it kept restarting on its own. So i did the usual thing and took out the battery and restarted it. However, that didn't help, as it just kept rebooting by itself. I research around the internet and I see the , bang the phone on its power button technique. That didnt work. Then I tried to restart the bootloader and it doesnt work, neither does trying recovery mode . Can anyone help me please.

Same problem.....can't flash back to stock - appears to work but after reboot it' as it was....won't stay on for more than 30 seconds once I get past the lock screen.....
