Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2012) Running Slow - New User - Need Help

I bought this Note 10.1 GT-N8010 last week on eBay for ?200, and was originally thrilled with it.
One week later, today, it's not only slow, but refusing to open "stuff".
What can have happened in one week?
Can someone help me?

Have you installed apps?
Tried to restart it?
Is it updated?

You could also try to reset it to see if it is going help.

Welcome to Android Central
You can try booting into recovery and wiping the cache partition. It won't delete anything
I'm pretty sure it's home + volume up+ power. Then you can use the volume buttons to move up and down and the power button to select the options

There is no "home" button on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. Can you please give me a better description of clearing the cache partition.
