Samsung galaxy note 10.1 not working

[Android Central Question]

Hi! i know this tablet is pretty old but i recently found it around the house, after not using it for some time. I haven’t had any problems with it since i started using it again, but sometimes the screen was flickering. Well this morning after i unplugged the charger i noticed the screen was darker in the bottom left corner. I restarted it and the darkness went away but i have a bigger problem now.
So the screen turns on, i can work on the tablet but as soon as i turn it off, the screen doesn’t turn back on anymore but the buttons light up. I have to restart the tablet by pressing the power button and the home button at the same time to get it to turn on.
What happened and what can i do?

Sounds like a screen issue, if it's old you need to decide if you want out money to fix it or get move in and get something little newer.
