Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with Verizon data only?

I am thinking of getting an unlocked Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and buying a prepaid plan from Verizon. My intention is to use data only (99c/day) to cover all my phone needs (i.e. making/receiving calls and SMS through apps like Talkatone, Viber, Skype). Would that work? Is there a problem with this setup?

Thanks in advance,
Nikos

Unless it's a Verizon note 2 it won't work

If that works then for $30 you can get unlimited data usage plus voice/text via apps without using voice minutes. Is that too good to be true? Has anyone tried it?

Also I think verizon is mainly CDMA based network but I've read that they started making phones with both CDMA and GSM capabilities for international usage. Does verizon make Note 2 with both CDMA and GSM capabilities?

Yeah Verizon note 2 will work on other networks. Like I have used mine on At&t but you can't use At&t note 2 on Verizon

As far as I know, they won't let you get just a data plan on a phone. I think you minimally have to buy the cheapest plan for voice which is $39.99. You could call and ask, but that's what they've told me before. They told me I could always get just a data plan of course on tablets, but not phones. Also last time I was trying to see if I could get a prepaid plan on my droid charge, and they said the prepaid plan is only for specific phones that are listed on their website, but who knows, they could have been wrong.

Yes it will but VW hasn't given us the ability to add APN for data so only text and voice over seas for now.
