Has anyone tried this yet, I'm thinking about it but wondering if I should wait until we see how this works out. The Note 20 Ultra is the only Android phone it's available on, I believe.

No but I have chatted a couple of times today with TMobile. Currently on VZW but thinking about signing up for TMobile postpaid service (only way to get 5G) and testing it out for a month or so without porting my number. Supposedly a physical VZW SIM and TMob eSIM can work concurrently without issue and I wouldn't even have to go into a TMob store or have one of their physical SIM cards!

Well after being told one thing by TMobile agents and trying to set up new service this is what I found out about eSIMs: YOU PHYSICALLY HAVE TO HAVE A TMOBILE SIM CARD to make it work. It CANNOT be remotely activated like I was told originally.

I have a factory unlocked N20U and am on VZW. After wasting most of the morning I finally spike with a TMob engineer who said the only way to "unlock" eSIM capabilities is through the software update they just sent out, and to get that particular software update you have to have active TMobile service!

How do you get active TMobile service but by a physical SIM which can then be converted to eSIM.

I only wanted to try their service esp 5G but in order to try 5G you have to sign up for a postpaid plan. I am not about to cancel or port my VZW service until I KNOW TMobile will work for me.

It has been complicated by fact that I live 1.5 hours away from the TMob store so I couldn't just pop in and pick one up...
