Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Screen Mirroring Not Working

My brother has a new unlocked T-Mobile Note 4 N9100 UK version and says everything works well except for screen mirroring. When he presses the mirroring button it just turns on then off. His girlfriend's S4 mirroring works fine on the same TV. Troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It should morror if it's a Samsung TV. If I were your brother I'd bring it back for a replacement.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I think it's a Sony TV. He says he's going to try a 3rd party mirroring app to see if he can get it to work.

After researching I think my brother's SM-N9100 might be counterfeit for the following reasons:

1.) Brother's N9100 is single SIM instead of dual SIM according to specs
2.) CPU Z app shows only 2 cores instead of 4.
3.) screen mirroring not working

Brother says phone is less responsive than expected.
About Phone OS = 5.0 (Lollipop) but CPU Z says 4.4.4 OS
N9100 Firmware/Baseband = N9100xxU1ANIF
(XX = Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom)

Rooted, but no Superuser or SuperSU app.
However, I think he might get Screen Mirroring working by adding "wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable" to /system/build.prop as suggested elsewhere.
I really need to take a look at his phone personally, which I have not.

With chromecast you now can mirror anything onto tv. I get a kick out of texting with my text app on the tv lol.

Phone confirmed counterfeit via Samsung Phone Info app on Google Play. Phone sold on Craigslist to a buyer who knew it was a clone. Sold for much less than asking price. Thanks for all responses.

Screen mirroring works on mine. But I am using the Chromecast dongle since my Samsung TV is not a smartTV.

My screen mirroring quit working on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 the day after updating to Lollipop 5.0.1. I'm not the only person who's experienced this problem. There are multiple posts here on Android Central.

Yes I hear you I hear you. Mine stopped working too. Very frustrating. I am using Cast Pro and it was working fine. I don't know what happened, it just stopped.
