Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Why is my battery draining so fast?

I've had my Note 4 for 4 months, there are days my battery will last all day, other days, like today where I've charged it all night and it's been 3.5 hours since I took it off and I'm at 37%. All I have done is talk on the phone and send 2 text messages, haven't even used data. There's been times I've charged my phone completely before bed, took it off the charger and it was totally drained by morning. I don't understand what is going on - any suggestions?

Please post battery stats from your phone. GSAM battery APP is a very good source to get them. Let us know if you need help with the App or posting results.
Good Luck!

I had the note 3 before getting my note 4 and have experienced similar problems with battery life on both. On my note 3 I rooted,Rom'd, bought a new battery...i tried everything and after owning the note 4 for around a month i'm having the same problems. I get the 4-5 hours of screen on time but the android system and os is always way too high (My wifes z3 always has these figures at 10% or below) which only leaves my network that connects the two. I live in the UK and while ee's 4G internet is outstanding their actual phone signal is terrible. My mobile network signal bar is always yellow whether im at home or at work in a city center and i only ever have one or two bars of signal.

Since the Lollipop update THE BATTERY HAS GOTTEN EVEN WORSE...I did the master reset and the battery is still the same...I hate how it drains when i only have it off the charger for 7 minutes...I lose 3 percent within 15 minutes without even using it...unacceptable..

Re: Battery life not that impressive

Thank you for that informative explication. I am in the dark when it comes to tech stuff but I too have noticed a huge battery drain (can see the % go down before my eyes while I watch the battery icon) after restoring apps from my note 3 to my note 4. I'd like to find out which app is causing this. On your post you mention looking for apps that have a large amount of awake time. How do I find this out? Is there an.... "app" that would show me that or is there a setting on the note 4 that would help?

I'm on att and after the update my note 4 is draining like crazy. I'm down to 80% after only 1 hour and only used it to bring up my boarding pass. I used to get a full day before the update.

Re: Battery life not that impressive

Yes, my "Android System" is draining heavily. What is strange, is that it's only the past week or so. I used to get the "good" battery life: 20 - 24 hours average use. There were times I went to bed, that the battery was still 50% or more, and I didn't even want to charge overnight. Suddenly, the past week, battery life drops like a rock! I woke up this Saturday morning at about 11:00 (yeah, late sleeper, hard Friday night), disconnected phone from charger, got up, got dressed, went to a café neerby for breakfast. It had been about 30 minutes, I had not made a call, or done anything myself on the phone, and battery life was down to 97%

I've had Android System pop up high a few times in the last few days. I cleared cache and my Android System Webview app needed an update. I'm not sure which one or if both, dropped my Android System from using about 32% but it is back to normal.

I charge mine last night and I use it when I wake around 6 pm and now its 11 why so fast?? but Im always on data and most of the time I played online games is it normal ?

Your games will kill the battery. I use my phone as a smartphone and a music device but I use my PC for games. :)

If you where to follow this you'll see you battery life improve.

My Wife's Cell Is On A Full Charge,Minutes Later, Yes Minutes Later,It'll Drop Down To 50%....She'll Take 2 Pics,And The Phone Will Die...Shuts Down.....Is This A Battery Problem?....Should I Get A New Battery??
