Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 - Rapid Battery Drain and Occasional Overheating Message

This says Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Review | Ubergizmo about 2.5 hours to fully charge the Note 8.0 device. That is what I have noticed now and last year before I had the problem.

The charging time is not linear. It seems to charge at a faster rate (% charge / minute) when the battery charge is low to medium (0% to 60% range). It charges at a much slower rate as battery charge % moves into higher than 60% range. It took me about 2 hours and 20 minutes to charge from 39% to full charge. It seems full charge should take about 3.25 to 3.5 hours or so.

This was my solution... i have the same problem....drain all the battery charge leave it until the tablet turn off itself then, take out the backcover.. its easy.. remove the battery and leave it alone for 4 hours.. then put it back . Conect the cable power and you will see the reboot options choose just reboot . Do a full charge.. and that resolve my problem... excuse my english.. thanks

oh this happened to me before! I use my note 8.0 on a daily basis (my temporary phone for 3 yrs) My battery is now working well because i changed the battery. Like u know that big battery stored inside the tab? Just go to the Samsung help center or to a place where they repklace the battery. The answer to ur problem is the battery.

I've had mine now for over a year and it just keeps getting worse I think it is just the piece of junk that I know of that Samsung has made.

I having the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. I was searching on my note last night and the battery was fully charge, but once I start using the note the power charge when down within 45 min of usages.

Please help me on what I can do to get more usage out of my Samsung Galaxy note 8.0 please. and all so the picture on this device is poor as while what up??

hi, i have the samsung gt -n5100 tablet and just last night i was charging and after a couple of hours it just stopped completely! and i noticed that the battery drained in an alarming rate even though it charging. like literally in just seconds it came from 22% to 13 % so i minimized the backlight turned off all the running apps and the wifi and i tried once again inserting the charger and it won't charge! so i shut it off and hoped that it'll refresh after a day but i could not turn it off cause it keeps on refreshing itself always! i waited for it to be totally dead so i could charge but after minutes of waiting if its already okay it keeps on happening again!
so this is my problem
-i can't turn off my tablet
-i can't charge it
-battery drains in an alarming rate
question:
what do you think is the problem?
did i overexert the battery? (cause sometime even if i'm charging it i can't help but use it as well while charging)
is it a virus?

PLEASE HELP ME.

I have the very exact same problem. I recently changed the battery but it was just a temporary fix. It goes ver nice to me in the first 3 days, then thenissue came back. So obviously, the issue lurks in the device itself. I will try removing rhe battery and plug it back. Will update

Cheers

Surprisingly noticed something. Before I posted, i got my batt drained from 88% down to 26% by just reading thebwhole thread in less than 30 mins.

And i did removed the batt from the back, leave it for a few mins, then put it back. When i turned it on. It surprisingly became 64%.. now im observing what will happen next.

Ill update again. Thanks.

final update.. i guess....

It's been 2 days since i have read this thread, and done the suggestion to replug the battery and I CAN CONFIRM THAT IT IS THE FIX FOR MY ISSUE.. so far the battery is now performing really well..

To others, please be informed that you need to consider the age of the battery before doing the sugestion above. Changing the Galaxy note 8's battery unit (perhaps the all samsung phones and tabs) will require reprogram.

Cheers to all, and thanks for sharing your helpful knowledge about the issue..
