Hey folks,
I'm looking to try and exchange my Note 8 (Telus Canada LTE model SGH-i467) to see if another unit continues to have the input-freezing problem, as well as the odd battery drain below 25%.
I emailed in first, and was directed to take the tablet to a Telus store. Dropped in at my local store last week, and the people there had no idea how to handle a tablet warranty. One of the reps said I'd have to bring it to a Samsung service center, and looked up one out in Mississauga Ontario area; the other said they weren't sure how Telus handles tablet repairs and she had to look into it. Never got a straight answer from that one, both reps suggested they "might" be able to get it warrantied, but it'd take at least 3-6 weeks and that Telus doesn't offer any kind of loaner device etc.
Now, I use my tablet every day for both work and play, and "might"/"at least 3-6 weeks" do not inspire confidence.
For those of you who've had to exchange/repair your Note 8 (especially those with LTE/3G/4G etc models), what has been your experience with this?
I'm a bit shocked that the folks at a busy Telus store aren't more aware/trained in these matters. Maybe they don't get many tablet returns/warranty claims, but at the moment I feel like I'm going to be sending my tablet to limbo if I follow their suggestions...
