It's worked fine everyday but now all of a sudden my computer wont recognize my phone and I cannot transfer files to / from my computer. I tried cleaning and "lifiting the tounge" but it still will not recognize my phone as a device. Any solution to this?

I am using Windows 7. Even when I try to manually connect in the phone's settings it gives me a message to plug in the usb (which is in). I am using the original charger that came with the phone.

Welcome to Android Central! When you connect via USB, do you see a USB connection notification on the phone? If so, swipe down the notification shade and tap the USB connection. Make sure it is set to "USB Mass Storage" or "Disk Drive."

The notification used to appear every time I plugged my phone into the computer. It's been missing ever since a few days ago. My computer updated recently, could that be an issue?

Windows updates have been known to mess up the USB drivers for certain devices--it happened in August for Nexus devices.

First, try a new or different USB cable, since cables can fail.
