So like the subject says my phone wont start. He hangs when displaying the logo and model number (GT-I9100).

I can get into the recovery mode (home / volume up / power button) for a factory reset.

But I'm actually looking for another solution, because there are many things that I prefer not to lose. Such as photos, contacts (many are not on the SIM-card), conversations, etc.

Will these things be deleted during a factory reset? Or are these things stored in the SD-card and therefore not cleared?

I also read that you can do a firmware update. Do you lose your data with this option?

The KIES program can not find the phone when I connect it to the computer.

Hopefully someone can help me and of course thank you for the effort!

Assuming you are rooted, have a custom recovery installed, and a nandroid backup of your phone in hand, the process would be much simpler. If that doesn't apply to you, you may have to do a factory reset.

Try going into recovery mode and wiping only cache and Davlik, then try and reboot.
