Samsung Galaxy S2 T813N w/ Android 6.0 Marshmallow

I purchased my 1st Tablet, a Samsung Galaxy S2 T813N w/ Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
I'm new to the forum & to Android tablets. I should receive the tablet in a week.

What, if anything, should I do when I get it ? i.e. Root it, make a backup somehow, etc.

I got my 813 yesterday and just went through the setup questions and started using it. I opted not to transfer anything from the previous tablet, Nexus 10, as it was full of first-tablet junk. I was pleased to not find much bloatware on it. I did shutoff the Samsung news page Flipboard, which made that page unuseable. So I added a page to the right and drug it over to be on the left of the home page.

So far we like this tablet very much.

Still waiting for my 813.
I saw someone do this with Flipboard on Youtube & was wondering what Flipboard was. So, it's a "news page" app / widget. Good to know.

Hope you enjoy your new 813. Please feel free to keep me updated, I'm a newbie, but a fast learner.
