Question samsung galaxy s22 doesn't work with hdmi adapter

Hello,

I have an s22 with a broken screen, trying to connect to a monitor to retrieve data but I cannot get it to work.

I works fine with my s22+ even though I did have to enable it on my phone but at least the monitor saw a signal. With my s22 it says there's no signal at all.

Any thoughts?

What about a straight USB to USB connection to your computer? Should be able to use the file manager on the computer to see and copy files and folders but you do have to have the phone unlocked (for obvious reasons).

Or is this a doable thing with a mobile to mobile USB connection?

This is one good reason to have an SD card slot on your phone so you can just move the card to another device to access the data on it.

Do you mean the S22+ previously had a working screen. Just spitballing here out of curiosity but it says you need to be able to press Start on the S22 screen. Someone with a similar Samsung may be able to post a screenshot of where on the screen it would be; though the touchscreen input would still need to be active.
