Samsung Galaxy S3 - clearing out security pin

Figured this out myself! If you go back into settings, security, and select screen lock it prompt you to enter the pin you created. After the pin is entered scroll all the way to the bottom there should be a "none" option to select. Previously I was putting all my focus on the screen lock option.

Thanks for coming back to post what you did to "fix it" for yourself. You never know, it may be helpful for someone else with the same question. Yes - good form. Bravo! ;)

I think ur post was misleading, you could have asked how do you turn off the pin security from the phone

tbh when i read it, i thought you had locked yourself out but it all good ;)

global s3, UK. Ask me anything and ill reply even if its just an intelligent (or stupid) guess ;)

I tried to do it just the way you said however there was no "PIN" option under "Security" selection. However when I did this Settings>Lock Screen>Screen Lock>None I was finally able to shut off security pin access to phone. The "Lock Screen" option was right above the "Security" selection but not in it.

Pls can someone tell me how to unlock my phone. I locked myself out with my password and can seem to unlock it because my password will not work. I was playing with my phone when i pressed a disable bottom on my kaspersky mobile security app. Ever since then my password for my lock screen stooped working. I can't unlock my phone with the screen lock password.

If you boot the phone in Recovery mode (with the phone turned off, press the Home button, the Power button and the Volume Up button simultaneously, and hold them all until you see the logo) you can perform a Factory Reset. Be aware that you'll lose all of your data (except for what you have synced with Google/the cloud, or saved on your SDCard).
I don't use Kaspersky, but perhaps they have a way to login to their website to undo whatever security option you selected - you should contact them directly mobilesupport@kaspersky.com

Can someone help me with this problem please? I have a galaxy s3 phone. I bought a SIM card from Staight Talk for their program where you can keep your old phone and just buy their SIM card, but when I try to turn my phone on I get a screen with a box that says SIM network unlock PIN and a place for me to put in a pin.And I have no idea what the pin is. I talked with a represenative from Straight Talk and she didnt provide any help. She gave a pin 1234 that didnt work. She then told me I need to check my phones manual for a pin. Can someone please Help me with this? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for this information. I've always used a pin but in changing it today I must have keyed it in wrongly twice because I've locked myself out. Feel a right ***** now! lol.
Thanks again,
Paul.

Thank you so much. I tried and tried everything. I put that screen lock on thinking I would like it, but it was a pain in the but!:)
