samsung galaxy s3 screen gone black

i dropped my samsung galaxy s3 a few weeks back.it was alright for sometime, but then after almost an hour the screen started going pink and purple,also few green spots here and there.later the screen went black completely.now when i press the power button,i can hear the phone switching on, i can also see the lights at the bottom but the screen is completely black. plz help!

You've broken the LED and need a new display.

S III glass/digitizer/led assembly is about $100, no telling how much would be charged to install it.

You can probably find a used one cheaper online (eBay, etc).
It's almost cheaper to buy a new Moto X (the older model) off contract than it is to throw $$$ at a new screen. YMMV.

Wow, that seems kind of high with excellent used S3's trending at $150 on Ebay.

I just broke my glass and was considering replacing the whole Assy.
Found some used for under $80.
The local repair shop wants that much to replace just the glass.

I think I am going to buy a cheap T999 and switch to T-mobile.
