AC Question

hello! my friend has an australian samsung s4. i was trying to show him how to delete the dumpstate/logcat files to free up memory on his phone. he deleted the dumpstate/logcat successfully, but afterwards he claimed he lost some applications. now he is saying he has been locked out of his phone. it is still switched on but he cannot get past the lock screen. he is extremely angry with me now as it is a work phone and he cannot use it. i have been doing the dumpstate/logcat delete on my samsung S2 and have never had anything go missing or been locked out of my phone. does anyone know what may have happened? i need to try to fix this for him ASAP! thanks :)

i posted this question, then decided to make an account. would it be an android issue or a samsung issue? i have been trying to find a list of what each of the options on the sysdump menu actually do, but have had no luck. i think my friend may have accidentally hit another option as he was trying to leave the sysdump menu. he is so friggin angry at me! i have been doing the delete dumpstate/logcat on my S2 for months and have never had an issue or side effect. i dont know what to do!
