Did anyone find the answer to the stupid date stamp? This update stinks. It also shows gallery stopped working when I try to share a photo

Hi, I recently did a system update to my S4 .
Now every time I view a picture in Gallery, a blue date stamp will show in the lower left corner of the picture

I think it's quite annoying and distracting, anyone know how to stop the date from showing up?

Turn off "tag buddy", go to gallery...settings...tag buddy....turn off all

I just signed up so I could answer. I've just discovered this new "feature." I believe there is no away around this. Unchecking the boxes, then turning off Tag Buddy with the "switch" doesn't work. Functionally, all they need to do is provide a checkbox on "date." I might want to play with the feature, but I also want to be able to COMPLETELY make it go away! Maybe they will listen to us at the next update. My first reaction was -- ohh, this is annoying, how do I turn it off?

I just registered so I could reply to this annoying situation. I remember allowing the recent update, and wasn't expecting much change (calculator not as good, for example).
I got past the Tag Buddy startup message easily, but then noticed the date flashing on every photo swype -- Ohhhh this is annoying, how do I turn it off? You can't, the settings interface with no checkbox on "date" pretty well says it all. I hope developers listen and give the choice to turn off date with the next update. I might be inclined to try these new features -- but not right now -- just let me make it go away -- let me keep my life simple if I so choose!

This cannot currently be fixed within the Gallery app of Samsung. It seems to be a Software error, because usually if you disable the Tag Buddy, it should also disable the display of the date.

Workaround: Install the Gallery app, which comes with vanilla (unaltered) Android operating systems. It is the simple, basic version of the Samsung Gallery app. You can download it here:

I just received and "update" and now all my photos show a date. Seriously? I use this phone for work. I do not want dates on all of my photos of my work. I just want the client to see my work. Also the image area appears to be much less. I am not impressed, and if I had seen the phone with this set up, I would NOT have bought it. Loved it until this. I wish I could go back and undo the upgrade.

Gallery > Menu > Settings > Turn 'Tag buddy' off

You are all going to laugh at this, but my mom LOVES the fact that the date briefly appears then disappears when she flicks through the pictures, and was horrified when I took it away from her accidentally by turning off 'tag buddy' on her Samsung tablet. Weird thing is, I have tag buddy on on my S5, but the date does not show in the same way even though we are at the same (similar ....) release level (4.4...). Oh well ...

Open the gallery and select the menu to go to settings. Select "Tag Buddy", then uncheck the box that says "Date".

Go into the gallery and select the menu button to bring up Settings. Select Tag Buddy, then scroll down and uncheck the box that says Date. That should clear it out.
