Sorry for the basic questions, but Media Volume is turned up, and you've already tried rebooting, right? Do all other sounds work? Have you tried a cache partition wipe? http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-10404
Your on the right track. I didn't do an entire cache wipe, but I did wipe the camera cache and that did the trick. As always, thanks for your help.

Hmm. The battery clearly shouldn't be overheating, so the shutter sound issue may just be a side effect of some other underlying problem. Are you getting a lot of unusual battery drain? Any apps that seem to be using too much battery? Problems with poor signal, which can lead to overheating?
Let us know if the shutter sound only disappears when the battery overheats.
