Samsung Galaxy S6 Best Buy Pre Order Deal and Dates.

Completely untrue, I'm on the more everything plan. When I pre-ordered with BB, he suggested I switch over to the edge plan due to me being on 10gb plan. He broke down the costs and told me when I come in to pick up the phone, they will switch to the edge plan for me.

Hey everyone, I just got off the chat with a Verizon representative and I asked if there was any advantage to ordering with them instead of Verizon. I was basically seeing if they could throw anything in. What the rep did say was that you can not go on the Verizon Edge plan if you buy through Best Buy. Can anybody else confirm this? If so, that's a deal breaker for me.

what about the advantage to ordering on Verizon is they are $100 than BB?

S6 32GB - $599 on Verizon, $749 at Best Buy

consistently BB is $150 more as you go up in storage and upgrade to the Edge.

Just price match.

Well I'm going on the edge plan so I'm not sure how it correlates. Their price does appear to be about $1 more per month through best buy. It came out to be $30 more over the 24 months, I'm not sure if it's because they are factoring in taxes or what. Either way, Verizon is offering a $100 gift card with the purchase of an S6 and trade in of any smart phone, so that's the route I'm going. I have an old Droid X and Motorola Photon still lying around the house. I'll take the $200.

I'm don't think that they price match carriers any more. I could be wrong, so please someone correct me if I am.

I don't believe they price match. I was told by a Samsung rep that they would but could not guarantee any final price if I pre ordered. If I put my $50 down, the final price could be less or more than what the current price they were telling me.

This is what I could find on their Price Match Guarantee:

Best Buy Price Match Guarantee

I guess technically it sounds like they might?

I am due for an upgrade, and decided to pre-order through Best Buy for this deal. Unfortunately I discovered that I'm unable to. My phone is actually a work phone, and even though I'm the authorized administer for this, Best Buy is not able to handle "business accounts". I guess there will be no free wireless charger for me. :'(

They don't price match on contract prices, although you may still be able to get them to. Off contract price is fair game though from what I've seen.

Best Buy told me that Edge pricing is all done through Verizon and their price will be the same, regardless of what the full price of the phone is at Best Buy.

It's definitely encouraging but I keep hoping to get my notification email. I was thinking that since I pre-ordered on March 27th that I might get it early. I pre-ordered mine in store and not online.

What's the difference store/online lol

So I've officially made up my mind and I'm going with the Verizon preorder instead of Best Buy. Is there anything that needs to be done to cancel the preorder? Of course Best Buy doesn't have a convenient chat feature that I can use while at work. When I asked the guy working while I was placing the order, he said "just don't show up" and your preorder will be cancelled. No offense to anybody who make work at Best Buy, but I realize most of the time they don't know what they are talking about and I don't want to get screwed. I do realize I'm stuck with the $50 gift card and I'm fine with that. I just don't want to be receiving a bill in the mail in a couple months for the phone or something.

If its worth getting the $50 back, go by the store and try to cancel it for a refund. I believe you can actually get a refund of that $50 gift card, since it was part of a pre-order. I've never done it personally, but pretty sure I've read of others who've gotten refunds on those deposits. Might be worth a shot anyways!

Thanks, but I think I'd rather just keep the gift cards. I've already fully used one of them and a few dollars off the other one. I'll probably just hang onto the gift cards that way when I want a new game or something I can pretend it's free. I've been married a few years so I'm learning the tricks of spending money without her complaining about me wasting. "Oh I already had this gift card laying around anyways" is a great excuse that I have in my back pocket now.

The store employee was correct in this case. They require a $50 gift card purchase in hopes that you won't leave the phone but if you do after 14 days it no longer has your name on it and will be sold to the next customer. There is no penalty other than your stuck with a $50 gift card.

Thanks for the response. My email actually says 72 hours. As long as there is no penalty then I won't bother doing anything. Maybe if Verizon screws up my pre-order then I'll end up using my Best Buy pre-order.

Any Sprint users in here know if Best Buy will do the legacy plans $19/mo Loyalty Credit on leases for the s6 like they're doing with the Note, s5, and iPhones? I asked at my BB yesterday, but they didn't know. I then chatted with Sprint today, and the rep said the $15 loyalty credit applies to ANY device eligible for leasing -- including the s6. This leads me to believe BB will eventually offer the Sprint Lease deal, but was just wondering if anyone had heard definitively. I'd obviously like to preorder with BB rather than Sprint, both because they give the extra $4/mo AND they're offering the charging mat with preorders.
