Samsung Galaxy S6 may have a Non-Android version

Probably Tizen. I am not really surprised. I was actually expecting it to happen on the S5.

If they run a Dalvik-compatible JRE on Tizen it won't make much difference (maybe in performance, but not so much to the end-user, because if the system is faster they can use slower hardware to save money). If not, there won't be many apps available, and it'll die with that one version.

It's been rumored for awhile that Samsung would like to sort of break with Google. This would be the first toe in the water.

I predict, if they do, it will be their Waterloo. They are letting ego overcome common sense. I like Sammy a lot. I also like Android and the vast eco system that goes with it these days. It will be a really hard to sell to make me change the OS at this point.

There are some features behind Tizen that I like. However, what I have seen isn't enough to pull me away. Where Samsung will have some benefit, is there will be people while will buy the Tizen Samsung, just because they may not realize it has a different OS.
