Samsung galaxy S7 - timer has no sound when phone's on silent

So I own a Samsung Galaxy S7 and, for whatever reason, the timer (NOT the alarm) does not make a sound when the phone is on silent or vibrate. I know that from settings I can change the volume button of notifications and systems, however, that is not an option when the phone is set on silent/vibrate. They are automatically set on mute and there's nothing I seem to be able to do about it. I've had this problem ever since I got the phone, have reset it and tried to fixed - nothing has worked. Any idea?

Silent means "no sound" - including the timer. There's no "silent except for the timer" mode.

This worked for me on the S4, and you might want to try it on your S7.
On Androids: from the Home screen, touch Apps > Settings > Blocking mode.
In case you also have an iPhone: check settings for Do Not Disturb mode.
