Samsung Galaxy S7 vs Note 7(Should I get one now or wait?)

Hello everyone!

I currently have the Note 5 and I am really ready to get rid of this thing. To make a long story short, everything bad that can happen to this phone, has happened, from me having to wipe it multiple times, to a crack that mysteriously appeared in the back, hell, I even tried to "downgrade" to the Note 4 and I got a scratched up refurbished model that I had to bring back.

I can't seem to get rid of this phone or the problems that plague it. They seem to follow me everywhere, no matter how hard I try to dodge them.

So up until recently, I was excited to get the new Note 7, but I have seen multiple reports where it will have that Edge curved screen that I do NOT like, meanwhile, although I would be losing screen real estate, I would much rather have a phone that works than one that has a ton of problems and that I am clumsy with.

I have been trying to be "good" and wait for the new note, but if it already has the curved edges, then I would need to get the S7. I am only interested in Samsung phones, so should I bite the bullet and wait for the new note to see if it really will have curved edges? Or should I get the galaxy s7?

I went from the Note 4 to the S7 Active (I am on AT&T) and I really like it. I put a tempered glass screen protector and it is sweet. The screen size took me a few days to get used to though. I rarely used the S-pen so I don't miss that. The Active has a 4000 mA battery versus the 3000 on the S7 and I usually end the day at about 40%. The camera is very quick to come up and be ready to use.

Overall I really like the speed, screen and battery life. Just my two cents.

If you're willing to wait, at the very least if you don't get the Note, the S7 will have had a price drop. However, you might have trouble with the screen size difference.

S7 curved screen or straight screen? Note 7 curved screen or straight screen?

A curved screen has to be tempered within a few degrees to maintain strength - one of the things manufacturers don't pay much attention to. So if it's a curved screen (either one), don't be surprised if, sitting on a table for half an hour, it decides to crack. (And it's not under warranty.) The slightest wrong temperature during tempering (at any point in the process) will give you a screen with a defect that will crack if you breathe on it.

I guess my Edge was built properly then :). It is surviving the cold building to 100+ degree heat outside .. back and forth.

I like the s7 for its size. The note line is just a little too large for my liking. That being said, you can't really go wrong with either device.

I got the S7 edge but returned for the regular S7. Super comfortable and fun to use, only thing I miss is the additional battery life on the edge.

I guess mine is built well then. I live in a tropical country where ambient temperature at noon time can reach near 40C. I move in and out of a well cooled airconditioned hospital building with ACs on max. No cracks after 2mos of doing that.
