Android Central Question

The paint on the corner of my 4-day old coral blue Samsung S9+ is already starting to peel off. It has not been dropped or in a pocket with any other object at all (let alone one that would scratch it). I'm appalled, to say the least. My S6 lasted for 3 years without losing color....... this is just unbelievable to me for an $800 phone.

I am heading back to my cell carrier tonight to see if I can exchange it, but I suspect I will be given the run-around. Have others had this experience? If I am stuck with it, has anyone found any touch-up paint or have other guidance on how to minimize the damage? I am assuming that the peel will worsen quickly if I don't get some type of paint or adhesive over the exposed parts.

Thanks!

They probably won't grant you a replacement, but it's worth a try. I had a cheap case on my black S9+ and it somehow managed to scrath the bottom of my phone (two small shiny specs, it must have had somehow removed the black coating). My OCD kicked in, so I ended up selling that S9+ and bought a new one lol.

When you return the phone it's worth discussing the problem with the manager rather than a member of the shop floor, you usually will get a replacement providing you can convince him / her that it is a manufacturing fault.

Are you sure that it's the paint that's peeling and not the protective wrap around the edge? Otherwise, you should definitely be able to get a replacement.

They should replace it no matter what. Within the 14 day limit you had the phone. Shouldn't of had no problems getting a new phone.

Can people really be that stupid not to notice the protective wrap around the phone? Makes me wonder...
