Android Central Question

Hello everyone, How is your day going ? Well i hope.

So i have some questions i just bought the samsung galaxy s9 from best buy unlocked carrier version so i could use it with any carrier and not have to worry about bloatware of any kind. There are a few issues i have noticed and read about the phone my biggest issue right now is the Security patch its still on febuary 1st and on samsungs site they promise monthly updates for all s9 and s9+ phones but mine is still on febuary and i try checking manually for updates but it says i am up to date , should i be worried about what i do on the phone due to vulnerability's ?

2nd problem is ive read that some people say it doesnt support HD Voice because its unlocked and if i want HD Voice that i should have gotten a Carrier locked one , i really never use WiFi calling so that doesnt bother me but i noticed wifi calling does pop up in the notifications on the top panel when im on wifi so im assuming it works, I just have not tried it. My Carrier is Currently MetroPCS by the way.

3rd problem well not really a problem but more like a question / thing i should look out for is some people have complained about the touch screen having problems and not responding in certain areas or having "dead zones" on the screen i havent fully noticed anything weird with the screen or anything but i did just buy the phone 2 days ago and have hardly used it because im on the fence about keeping it i have 12 days to retun the phone i lose out on 35$ for a restocking fee and 70$ for the new line i opened which im not happy about but i would have to live with it , an expensive lesson i guess... You live and you learn.

4th problem is that it does'nt show my number in the settings section it just says "Unknown" but i have tried calling and it does show my number when calling another phone but on my phone it shows "Unknown" is that normal and can it be fixed?

These are all little problems but they kind of bug me and Any help or awnsers would be much appreciated.

I do love the phone and its design but the software and its security patches scare me and if it does have a touch screen problem that would be a big problem for me. As i stated up above i only have 12 days left to return it so i havent really used the phone that much maybe spent an hour playing around with the features and turning off and removing some of the apps i would never use on it.

I just would like to thank everyone who views/comments on this post ahead of time for taking the time out of your busy lives/day for taking the time to read and help me. THANK YOU👍😊

1st. Updates seem to be rolling out so you should see one soon and unlocked devices typically see them last.

2nd. It's up to the carriers on what they want to allow on unlocked devices so your best bet is to contact them and find out.

3rd. These are probably isolated cases. Myself and many others have had the device since launch with this screen issue.

4th. This also might be a carrier thing. Have you called in to your carrier for them to update your IMEI on your account? That might help provision the device on your carriers network and give you all the services they provide.

Hope you enjoy your new device it's definitely one of the best out right now.
