Samsung Galaxy tab 3 lite will not output to audio receiver

I currently listen to my music from my Galaxy 5 phone connected to my Yamaha audio receiver using the USB cable. When I plug in my Samsung Galaxy tab 3 lite my receiver says accessing error. Is it possible to play music with the Samsung Galaxy tab 3 lite through an audio receiver? Seems to me this should be plug and play. Thx

Plug a 3.5mm plug into the tab's earphone jack. The other end of the cable should have whatever connector your Yamaha uses for its Aux input. Plug that in. Switch the Yamaha to Aux input.
