samsung galaxy tab A screen black

My screen has suddenly gone black. When I plug it in it will say 100% charged but the screen stays black. When I unplug it the screen just stays black. I've tried different chargers and outlets too. Nothing happens when I hold the button down to try to reboot it.

Which buttons did you hold down? The screen is black but on?

I believe it's volume up and power, holding while it is off. It should boot into Samsung recovery mode
