My Samsung tablet cannot start. The tablet is a Samsung Tab A 10.1. It used to work until a few days ago but maybe this is because the battery ran out. I will explain.

The only way I can get any response is with power on, to press Power, vol down and Home together for several seconds. The screen will then open and I can continue or cancel once I press the cancel button the tablet will boot to the Android booting screen repeatedly as if in a loop. Turn the tablet off and the sequence repeats again.

Can anyone help. Please ask any questions.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Android 15 forum to the Tab A 10.1 forum.

Try leaving the tablet plugged into a wall outlet for at least 4 hours undisturbed. Then press and hold Power for about 15 seconds to see if it powers on normally.

Depending on which generation of the Tab A 10.1 you have, it might be failing due to age. The first gen was released in 2016, so that would be 9 years old (which is very old by tech standards).

Hi

Sorry for delay in replying. I did what you suggest and nothing works. What I was looking for actually was any procedure for being able to boot the tablet into recovery mode or another mode. Looking at the posts I read about something called Odin. What is that?

Odin is to download Samsung stock firmware or Root, custom firmware etc..

Can u get into download mode?

No. I used to load custom firmware on my earlier Asus Transformer so I am somewhat familiar with the process but it has been a while since I did that.

So to be clear it doesn't go into download mode?
That is correct. It does not go into download mode at all. In plug in the tablet and when I hit power, volume down and home together, the tablet powers up with a flashing lightning bolt icon and continues on like that. No download mode at all.

Hmm
Have you tried slow charging it like a cable connected to a laptop?
If you can't get to that mode then a repair center will have to check it .

Actually I did get it to the download mode with the downward arrow and " do not turn off target" displayed on a bluegreen screen. Where do I go from here??

Thanks.

Ok extract both of them , then open Frija and connect your phone to the PC with a good cable see if Frija recognizes your device
